Description
This is my take on the iPhone Standby Mode Dock. I saw the version made by Scott Yu-Jan and thought it looked great, but lacked the functionality for me to want to print and really use it. As an engineer, the phrase, “I could do that” instantly popped into mind.
For my design, I took inspiration from various Mid-Century Modern styles. Rectangular shapes with soft edges, out-of-sight storage in the back, very visible and very satisfying button on top to push the phone out of the holder, and a channel for the wires to come out of the back. The print file is for the iPhone 15 Pro max, but the SolidWorks file has equations to modify phone sizes.
What it can do:
- Hold any iPhone with magsafe charging in the standby mode orientation
- Fit an iPhone wireless charger in the main charging port
- Fit an airpods/apple watch charger in the top slot of the dock, airpods magnetically set into place.
- Utilize a push button to push the phone out of the dock. Made to be easier to find at night or upon waking up with the amount it protrudes from the top.
- Internal Cable Mangement
- SolidWorks .sldprt multibody part file with equations to modify phone size. Feel free to download it yourself and remix it if you don't have and iPhone 15 Pro Max!
