Margie's Candies Model Set - 1:64 Scale Diorama
Print Profile(1)

Description
Margie's Candies is a legendary candy shop and ice cream parlor in Chicago, serving up homemade ice creams, chocolates, and all sorts of candy. Margie's is a family owned operation with two locations in the city. The original shop has been open since 1921. Margie's became a destination spot and Chicago staple after celebrities like Al Capone, Meryl Streep, and the Beatles ate there. The shop was also featured on an episode of The Bear.

Margie's is such a unique place bringing old fashioned ice cream parlor feels to a hustling, busy urban city. The building itself is nothing too special, but the storefront features their iconic yellow and red signage and red and white awnings which makes them so recognizable.

This model is the same scale as our Spirit Halloween model (https://makerworld.com/en/models/651833#profileId-578540) so the models can sit next to each other to build out a scene (I am planning on designing even more models to create a mini city).
The parts print easily while trying to keep support at a minimum. The main body of the model takes the longest to build and does use some support. The signage and awnings use the AMS system for multi-color. The corner, rounded sign does have a bit of a stair-step look due to the orientation of the build to minimize the print time and support. I may try to reprint in a different orientation to get a smoother print and will update if I do. Feel free to play around with part orientation to improve any of the prints and reach out with any questions. Enjoy!
Assembly:
- The main body of the building press fits onto the base.
- The roof press fits onto the body.
- All of the windows and the door press fit into their respective slots on the body.
- The awnings press fit into place.
- The signage can be adhered to the body with either glue or double sided tape.
