Description
Magic ball spinner carrousel
with 5.2:1 gear ratio
- Can be printed in separate colors WITHOUT AMS
- The ball clicks onto the spiral arm
- No extra parts needed!
- Fully 3D printed model
- Fairly easy to print
TIP: If the ball is too hard to click on, just file the joint a bit.
The base part is from a scrapped filament swatch spinner project I made, but never published. The though was that the filament swatches were mounted standing on the propeller part. But as one can imagine, the poor filament swatches were rotated WAY too fast for it to be other than a toy, and I instead made this filament spinner: Tower Spinner for Filament Swatches (96 swatches) by jakobdam - MakerWorld
The "Spiral and ball" part has been inspired by this: Spiral and ball by luca.cambianica - MakerWorld
However, my version is built in Blender from the ground up, and my version consists of many more polygons for a smoother spiral and cylinder base. I also let my spiral continue a bit longer than Luca's version, which I think makes it look more mesmerizing. Furthermore, I made my ball removable and printed as a separate part, so you don't need an AMS, or mad painting skills.
