I had already designed a very simple version of a dust cover for the 3D Space Mouse Pro with a cable some time ago, which should be printable in one piece. But back then I didn't have a printer yet and wasn't on Makerworld.

I only bought a printer now and then saw that another user had already thought about it and had already designed a similar 3-part version of the cover for the mouse.

With my simple slanted version you get a nice structure on the top at 0.2mm thickness, which is not smooth and doesn't look bad either.

Tip: Be sure to set support structure (Normal maximum), otherwise stringing will occur on the underside, see pictures and the button recess at the top doesn't fit the mouse. Unfortunately, I had to grind this down with a milling cutter on the inside until it fit, but it wasn't a problem.

I didn't set a variable layer thickness here. Set an outer edge at least 5mm wide, otherwise the part will jump off the plate. As an injection molded part, a lot of effort would have to be put into getting this surface with a wave structure. For copyright reasons, I have pressed my logo into it.

At first I set 0.08 mm without an edge, but the part didn't come out well, it partially detached from the Texture PEI plate. Also a lousy surface, inside and out. Then I placed it upright with a modeled-on support surface, although super surface, also 0.08 thickness, but the part starts to shake at 75% height so that even outside absolute stringing occurs, the part then falls off the plate due to the low adhesion and the X1C prints without an error message!!! cheerfully continues to print filaments. Without stopping. Doesn't work at all. Then I put it back on the wide base, set 0.2mm, set supports and it at least prints the part in acceptable quality.
