Description
The Aircraft
The Cessna 185 Skywagon, introduced in 1961, is a rugged, high-wing, single-engine aircraft designed for both utility and bush flying. Known for its tailwheel (conventional gear) configuration and powerful engine, the Cessna 185 quickly became a favorite among pilots needing an aircraft capable of operating on rough and remote airstrips. Its exceptional short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities made it a workhorse in areas like Alaska, Canada, and other wilderness regions. Over its production run, which lasted until 1985, the Skywagon earned a reputation for reliability and versatility, often used for cargo transport, skydiving, and float operations. The Cessna 185's contribution to bush aviation and its adaptability make it a significant aircraft in the history of general aviation.
The Model
This is a lovely model to assemble and should not require any glue. Check those hinges and enjoy that spinny propeller. :-)
