Description
I use an old Dell Optiplex 3050 Mini Tower as a server and have a ton of SSDs laying around. Needed something to fix them inside the PC.
About the Cage
Designed with my Optiplex 3050, but should also fit in Dell Optiplex 3040, 3060 and 3070 Mini Tower Cases. Note that this Cage does not go in the existing 2,5" bay, but in between the 2,5" and 3,5" bay, which sets it apart from other Cages. There is a version with 7mm thickness for SSDs and 9.5mm for HDDs, latter of which is untested! Designed so that 1cm of the drive protudes, so you can easily take it out. And spaced apart as well, so that you can actually plug cables into the drives. The drives are held by their snug fit alone, no mounting hardware required.
I thought about the heat of the SSDs, which is why I added the holes on the bottom and the free space on top of an dbelow the SSDs, so that there is airflow.
This one may not be the best designed model, but it works and does what it's supposed to do
