Summary
This is a model of a contact mine that is designed to look like it is floating while tethered to the sea floor with a chain. Contact mines are the stereotypical mines we think of from popular culture with the horns all over them. When a ship comes into contact with the prong, the mine detonates. There are other types of mines without the contact horns that work based on a passing ships magnetic field or changes in ocean pressure.
The model is easy to put together, just snap the mine together with the peg and then connect the sea floor stand to the mine with the chain.
Bambu PLA filaments used were:
- Metal Black for the Mine
- Metal Copper for the chain
- Matte Olive Dark Green for the sea floor stand
If there's any other models with this kind of floating effect that you'd be interested to see, let me know in the comments.
