Thank you very much for downloading and printing.   times. There were no print quality issues and the assembly process took a long time. But it's also fun and fulfilling. The model design was inspired by the V8 car engine. 3D printing models are designed to ensure that the model maintains high precision and decorative quality while making printing easier, with all details being original. The V8 engine cylinder design is the core technology, plus the piston crank linkage, and the model is for learning, communication, assembly only, and shall not be used for any commercial activities without the permission of this author.

a box full of bits printed with no issues just need to put it together, now completed and look great goes with the rest of the collection

Hello Mr. Geng, thanks for the great model! I created a hand crank and drill attachment that attach to the non-gear side of your engine. If you would like I can send you the files and you can upload them for everyone. It made it much easier to break in the engine with a drill and now it spins much more smoothly.

Anyone printed this in PLA yet? Or should I bite the bullet and get the PETG filaments, note I have only printed in PETG once. I want to print this for my dad and assemble it with him for Christmas.

All materials can be printed, except for TPU

Hi @NasiF , were you able to print the engine in PLA? I realized I started printing in PLA and needed PETG. I'm not sure what part the TPU is

I did not end up printing this. Decided to start easier and do the 2 cylinder engine kit from Bambu labs. My dad (61) and I (29) had a great time building it together. Next year Christmas or his birthday will probably be this motor

3M14mm - is that means M14 × 3 mm (14 mm length and 3 mm width) ? or 14 mm length and 3 mm carving ? Could you please provide example of it, because we have another standart and I don't understand what means 3M14mm

The 3 represents 3mm nominal outside dimension of the screw thread. Normal screw descriptions for machine screws Metric machine screw dimensions are specified by "M" followed by the nominal diameter in millimeters, then a hyphen, the pitch in millimeters, and then a "x" followed by the length in millimeters (e.g., M6-1.0x20).  But we see that the Maker's Supply shop typically just lists the metric nominal size and length... eg. M3x14, which is okay because they sell the nuts in the same thread pitch as the machine screws. Apologies if you were already aware of those specifics. They're more important if you're buying the screws off Amazon or some other site, where there are hundreds to choose from but may have a couple of different thread pitches. Also good to know if the heads are intended to be dome or cap style.
