Description
This is a MagSafe iphone mount for the 2024 year model MG4
It also supports a holder for a CarLink 4 mounted behind the phone for wireless apple car play.
I used the in-car mount points and cable management slots to keep the install simple and the cables out of sight.
The unit clips into the factory mounts, after you remove the rubber pad over the factory wireless charging pad. The Mat Just pops out, can easily be removed and replaced if you want to stop using the charger.
The model prints without support and come in two pieces (75% infill)
- The MagSafe Phone holder
- The Factory mount clip’s for the MG4.
I print the two pieces and then glue or plastic weld the two together using the allignment markes on the bottom of the mode (see photos)
The only trick is my car's usb-c port didn’t recognize the apple MagSafe charging protocol so i use a dedicated usb-C power supply in the 12 volt outlet for the MagSafe charger.
The CarLink just plugs in the standard usb-A plug like normal.
Oh, I also use a stronger MagSafe case on the phone.
