Heyho

Here I have a drill guide for you.

I tried to make it as versatile as possible. You can change the core elements to fit them for other drill sizes or if they show wear and tear.

I tried to make as many parts as possible printable. But still you will need:
1 x piece of Filament (I used PETG), 1 x M5 Nut and 1 x M5 x 35+ mm Screw. 

All in all this Design is intended as an aid. Of course, you still have to try to keep the drill fairly straight, as there are always tolerances in the printed parts.

Print Instructions:

I would highly recommend to use temperature resistant material for the core elements. In my tests PETG worked fine (4 Perimeter). Don't worry if they don't fit perfectly to the drill at first. The drill will widen it for a perfect fit :P.
For the other parts I used PLA with 25% Infill, 3-4 Perimeter.

Make sure there is no seam at the marking guides.

 

Also I highly recommend to only print this design with a tuned in 3D printer. Since big tolerances have a direct impact on the perpendicularity of the drilled holes I tried to hold am as small as possbile for most of you. (Around 0,15 around the individual parts).

 

Part explanation:

You have the base set with the Main element, the Stop and an adapter for very short support faces of the workpiece.

Also I added a M5 Knob for a faster adjustment of the Stop.

I created Core Elements from 5 mm to 13 mm. But you can also use the .step files (Guide/ Guides) to remix the core elements to your needs.

Prototypes:

I had some other ideas to realize this jig. One of them is to make the core element 2 parts to reduce the friction a lot. But the downside are the increasing tolerances that reduce the overall accuracy.

Also I thought of inserting Metal guides into the core elements. That is sth. I can defenitively add later on.
 

Annother easy adaption would be to create the base element with a longer “tail” for bigger workpieces.
