Here is my design for a hairbrush that is easy, fast, and cheap to print

The bristles are simply pushed into the brush body and then the brush is closed with the end piece

The end piece must be tilted slightly for assembly and can then be pressed into the brush body

This has the advantage that the bristles can be easily replaced if needed

Attention: When assembling the bristles, the raised part on the bristle foot must point to the right when inserted into the brush body

There are beautiful optical effects when the bristles are printed in two colors

For example, you can print a color-customized brush for each child

Best printed in PETG or PETG-HF

Have fun

The only complaint I have is that the tab to lock the brushes broke immediately 🤣 but it's still functional, in the end, a lock wouldn't even be necessary, it's more for aesthetics than utility

Other Issues:cant insert the brushes as the tolerance isnt good enough
Strength Issue:brushes breake while inserting

Hello, what material did you use and did you use the same material for the brush body and bristles? If not, it is possible that the tolerances are too tight due to different shrinkage.

ok, normally it also works with PLA (Bambu), but maybe try PETG or even better PETG-HF. Maybe reduce the printing speed a little and layer height max 0.16mm

Kind of works. But it's hard to put together.

I LOVE the overall concept. The main challenge for me was that the bristles were too weak to get them off my textured bed. Over half ended up with bent or broken bristles before I even got to insert them into the brush. Since I think the design is fabulous, I went ahead and changed increased the sparse infill density and crossed my fingers. It worked! All pieces made it off the print bed. I'll add the print profile in case anyone else had the same problem. The bristles were tough to insert (a good thing!) even before increasing the infill. I was careful to make sure the grooves matched before inserting the teeth AND would try a different set of teeth if one was difficult OR tried the teeth in a different slot. I had to go VERY slowly. If my fingers were further away on the teeth OR if I applied pressure on the teeth vs. the "spine" then the strip of teeth would try to bend. I won't install the end piece because my daughter tends break bristles so I'll want to change them out easily.
