Description

After seeing the success of my desk trash can and noticing its various flaws, I now present to you my Desk trash bin V2.

V1 : https://makerworld.com/en/models/410153#profileId-318238

It still serves the same purpose: making it easier to remove waste from your desk. It attaches more easily to your desk and holds better in place thanks to two screws on each side. It can fit desks up to 3.5 cm thick, 7 cm long (a TPU piece to reduce sliding is currently in development).

The biggest new feature is the ability to change the trash bin more easily. Now, you just slide it into the slots made for this purpose. I've also added a locking system to secure the bin using a 1.75 mm piece of filament, as shown in the photos.

For now, I've made a 2 cm version for smaller bins and a 10 cm version to hold more waste.

I've also created a receptacle for trash bags, which makes it easier to empty the bag and offers greater capacity.

The trash can now offers a wider range of customization and better adapts to your needs.

For printing :

  • You must print with a maximum layer height of 0.2 mm otherwise, it becomes very difficult to insert the screws and rails, and fitting them is complicated.

  • I have also adapted the fuzzy skin for the print, placing it in the appropriate areas to avoid any issues. Therefore, you should use my file for the fuzzy skin.

  • I have optimized the supports to ensure smooth 3D printing and to keep the tolerances accurate. You will need a bit more patience to remove the supports from the top of the part and in the rails, but with a small pair of cutters, they come off very easily.

Good 3D printing :)
