The Summer Palace is is a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces in Beijing. This model depicts only a small section of it, comprising the Longevity Hill and Tower of Buddhist Incense, which is one of the most famous and photographed parts.
These models can be printed in large scales and in colors with AMS.
About the buildings:
It was an imperial garden with palaces during the Qing dynasty, completed mostly in its current form in 1764, although its origins date back almost 1000 years. Longevity Hill lies in front of Kunming Lake and rises 60 m (200 ft) high and has many buildings positioned in sequence. The front hill is the site of splendid halls and pavilions, while the back hill is quiet with natural beauty.
Our model depicts the main attractions, starting from the dock where visitor dragon boats land, across the main Gate and through two courtyards and several halls. Then, up some stairs to the 20 m (66 ft) stone platform where the Tower of Buddhist Incense is built, measuring 41 m (135 ft) tall and supported by eight ironwood pillars. Beyond it lies the Sea of Wisdom hall at the peak of Longevity Hill.
Since 1953, many major restoration and renovation works have been done on the Summer Palace, which is now open to the public as a tourist attraction and park. It was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998 (from Wikipedia).

Print Instructions
Suggested parameters:
- No supports for all versions, except some halls if doing the multi-part assembly.
- Lay the flat side of all parts on the print bed. Must glue after printing for a permanent assembly.
Sand lightly to flatten if the surfaces are not perfectly flat to each other. - At 1:1, the object is small because it fits with the larger assembly of the whole temple complex. Scale up for standalone use, especially to showcase the full details and if using colors. Multicolor Pagoda in photos is 700% scale.
Fine-tune retraction to avoid stringing.
Perimeters: 2
Top layers: 3
Infill: as low as 15%, lightning pattern ok
You can choose to print the whole miniature or just the Tower/Pagoda of Buddhist Incense.
You can also choose AMS or Multi-part assembly, or a combination of both for even more detail and colors.
Of course, you can also print anything in just one color.
If doing an assembly, Follow the photos for indications of where everything fits, the names of the files help but there are too many features that prevent being completely precise.
You can also try a lamp version for the Tower/Pagoda, by splitting in parts and hollowing the inside with a negative volume in your slicer, an octagon of the right size will cut and allow the windows to be through.
.3mf file with pre-painted 4 colors is provided, for use in AMS
