Attempting to create a 3D ant farm
The main body requires plastering the walls to be usable, otherwise it will be too smooth and not suitable for ants to climb
It is recommended to print with PETG, except for the main body, other parts do not require supports
A new design with a lighting version and support for expansion layers has been released
Cave Ant Farm (Touch Light Version) from Baicha - MakerWorld
- Independent water tower for air humidification, expandable left and right, magnetic adsorption
- Glass panels are used at the front and back, the activity area is bonded with acrylic glue, also magnetic adsorption
- Biomimetic nest structure (or so it seems)
About Dimensions:
- Overall dimensions (length x width x height): 53x120x115 mm
- Nest body dimensions (length x width x height): 53x120x62mm including water tower base
- Activity area dimensions (length x width x height): 56x120x53
Notes:
- Due to the certain difficulty of plastering the walls, if you are unsure, modify the printing direction of the main body in the print file (requires more supports)
I have not yet cut the acrylic activity area, so I don't know what problems might arise, please provide timely feedback if you encounter any issues
Modifications:
- Added a pure version of the nest body, allowing everyone to freely create by adding branches, crystals, various minerals, and other landscaping elements to make your unique ant farm
The pure version has been completed for your reference
Please provide feedback if you encounter any issues, and I will promptly modify the model files.
Currently, the only unverified issues are the assembly gap problems with the acrylic activity area and the glass cover plate.
