Description

UPDATE: There are now 4 models, I created a version without the blade retention nubs because I found that blades were not standard sizes and that some blades interfered with the nubs as implemented.  The simplest solution was to make a version with and without because while they are a nice to have, they are not strictly necessary, I provide both options here for your convenience.

Remix of a remix of a plastic razor blade scraper handle. I designed engineered supports for the tabs to ensure that they were easy to remove. There are two models, one with the engineered supports and one without. The original plastic scraper blade holder was a little square and that limited the angles you could scrape with it. The remix of that design chamfered the edges near the bed to allow additional access and created several different handle lengths. This remix is of the longest handle length where I have smoothed and chamfered the handle and smoothed some of the angles to improve comfort and feel. I'm of the opinion that it looks a little nicer with the chamfered and radiused edges, but that's a subjective opinion. Also, this remix includes raised notches around the blade holder to improve loading and retention. The engineered supports printed very will with my 0.4mm nozzle and 0.16mm layer height, but since it may not be dialed for all nozzles and settings I included the original model without for easy use as well.

There appears to be a bug in the “Does your model require non-3D printed parts?” option. I don't believe that Maker Supply sells plastic razor blades, but since I didn't enter anything from there I wasn't able to save the part. So I had to select the “no” option. But please understand that you are only printing the handle, the plastic razor blade must be purchased. I am personally convinced they are the best option for clearing your bed.
