Interchangeable headband system - modular hairband

A modular, interchangeable hairband/headband system comprising of the base headband (this model) plus a range of interchangeable ‘toppers’ which can be customised for your celebration, special day, sports team, festivity or anything else!

There is a large and varied collection of interchangeable toppers, which you can find by clicking here, and I am continually adding more. There is also a blank ‘template’ module to allow you to create your own unique toppers for any occasion.

The headband is a universal size designed to fit most adults and children. I made several revisions of this model adjusting the size, shape and ‘springiness’ until I achieved a comfortable fit which wasn't too tight especially at the bottom of the band where it grips. It also incorporates flared ends to aid comfort. The edges are all rounded, although this does mean a brim is recommended when printing to ensure good bed adhesion. The brim can be easily removed with a stanley knife or deburring tool after printing.

It can be printed in PLA basic or PLA matte and both work equally well. I found PLA Matte to be a little more comfortable, but perhaps isn't quite as strong as PLA basic. I've also found PLA matte to be a little looser in the keyway, and may even require a spot of glue to hold the topper on in some cases, but PLA basic headband with a PLA basic topper is generally a good friction fit allowing you to easily swap the toppers.
