Flour Windmill The Firstfruits (De Eersteling)

I live in the Netherlands (Holland) and besides the fact that we have tulips and always wear clogs (wooden shoes), we also have windmills.

Windmills were used to fulfill all kinds of functions, meaning that there were various types of windmill. The main kinds of traditional windmill are: Polder mill, Sawmill, Corn(flour) mill and Chalk mill.

I live in the polder surrounded by dikes and the flour mill is on a raised dike. The mill is called The Firstfruist, because it was the first windmill built after the reclamation of the polder (1852).

The mill itself was build in 1856 and had a major restoration in 1977.

So the mill has stood the test of time and still grinds wheat. The mill is open to the public on weekends. We buy the flour regularly for our homemade bread and cakes.

So now you can easily print this typical historical landmark from my hometown.

It took me less than 3 hours to print, but you might be able to decrease the print time dramatically.

I printed in white PLA+ and painted it in typical old Dutch windmill colors.
