Laojun Mountain Golden Peak Golden Palace in Luoyang, Henan, China

The Laojun Mountain Scenic Area in Luoyang is located in Laojun Mountain Scenic Area, Luanchuan Township, Luanchuan County, Luoyang City, Henan Province, covering an area of 26,660,000 square meters. Laojun Mountain, formerly known as Jingshi Mountain, was named Laojun Mountain because Laozi, the ancestor of Taoism in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, retired and practiced here. It is the main peak of the 800-li Funiu Mountains, with an altitude of 2,217 meters. Laojun Mountain was formed during the continental orogeny 1.9 billion years ago, creating its unique landscape.

The Laojun Mountain Scenic Area in Luoyang is vast, mainly divided into the Laojun Mountain Main Scenic Area in the center, the Dream Valley Scenic Area in the west, and the Zaigou Scenic Area in the east. The Laojun Mountain Main Scenic Area in Luoyang includes the main attractions of Zhongtianmen, Golden Peak, Laojun Temple, Nan Tianmen, Yuhuangding, and Mazongling.

The Laojun Mountain Scenic Area in Luoyang has been designated as a national nature reserve, a provincial scenic spot, and a provincial cultural relic protection unit. In 2012, the Laojun Mountain Scenic Area in Luoyang was rated as a national 5A-level tourist attraction.

The Golden Palace, also known as the Wumu Golden Palace, is 2,173 meters above sea level and forms a triangular shape with Liangbaotai and Yuhuangding, cleverly creating a spectacular pattern of two dragons playing with a pearl. It is not only an excellent place to admire the mountain scenery, but also, with its unique shape, it has become the finishing touch of the Golden Peak Taoist temple complex.

The plaque on the Wumu Golden Palace reads "Mother of the World." The main hall houses the statues of Nuwa, the Mother of Man, Dimu, the Mother of Earth, Tianhuangmu, the Mother of Heaven, Xiwangmu, the Queen Mother of the West, and Wuji Mu, the Mother of Infinity. The entire building appears magnificent.
