Note: when trimming this profile to length in the slicer, please don't use the scale feature since this would mess up the threaded hole. Use a Z cut instead.
This is a 4040 aluminum extrusion profile optimized for 3d printing. This is part of a 4040 series I'm making to substitute for off-the-shelf 4040 parts. They're particularly useful for non-demanding applications such as shelves or small frames. When printed from PLA it's very rigid.
Features
- Standard 4040 profile slightly modified to optimize for 3d printing.
- Threaded M8 center hole. No need to tap before screwing in, also results in better strength.
- Fine-tuned dimensions for optimized path generation when sliced with default settings.
- Surprisingly rigid!
