Xihua Normal University Sandbox Model (UAV Modeling)

Xihua Normal University is a key university under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province and one of the first "Double First-Class" construction universities in Sichuan Province. This model is primarily a physical sandbox model created for the area enclosed by Zhaoyang Building (teaching building), the library, the art and music buildings, the office building, the university hospital, and the chemical building in the first phase of Xihua Normal University's Huafeng Campus. After conducting oblique photography of the survey area using a drone, a real-scene 3D model (OBJ format) was constructed, and then this OBJ model was used as a base for manual modeling with modeling software. This model is an experimental product exploring the integration of UAV oblique photogrammetry technology and 3D printing technology. Compared to traditional sandbox model production, it has the following advantages: 1. High model accuracy, high detail restoration, and consistent proportions. Since the original model was built 1:1 based on the real world, it is more coordinated after proportional scaling, and there will be no issues with proportions inconsistent with the real world. 2. Can be repeatedly batch printed, suitable for large-scale replication and production. 3. Greatly saves labor and material costs. Notes: 1. The architectural model has many supports that are also difficult to remove. Pay special attention not to accidentally remove the pillars of Zhaoyang Building. 2. Due to the limitations of the printer build plate size, the sandbox base could not be printed in one piece, so the sandbox base was cut into 9 pieces and printed separately. However, during the subsequent gluing process, it was found that a perfect fit could not be achieved, leaving large gaps in the middle after gluing, and it was difficult to make the base plates completely flat with each other. 3. The original model file (STL format data) is an undivided complete model, which can be adjusted by yourself. 4.
