LED Lamp Kit (1pcs) - MH001
D6x2 mm Round Magnet (20PCS) - CA004

Description

I’ve designed a wall lamp for the LED lamp kit 001 by Bambu lab. The lamp shades attach with magnets, allowing you to print multiple shades and easily swap them out as you like. See all the lamps I’ve done so far among my other models.

The lamps are 245 mm in diameter and print well on larger build plates.

How you do it

  1. Print the wall mount, add some 6x2 mm magnets and screw it to the wall.
  2. Print the lamp shade and add some more magnets.
  3. Press the lamp switch for the clickety-clickety, and voilá – there’s spooky light!

Important tips

  1. To avoid printing over calibration lines, either run the flow dynamics calibration for your filament in Bambu Slicer beforehand, or peel off the lines from the print bed before the lamp shade starts printing.
  2. Pay attention to the first layers around color changes. I’ve had prints ruined by small filament strings from the black layer getting caught in the lighter color.
  3. Printing on textured build plates gives the light a softer, more diffused effect and helps conceal layer lines better.
  4. Skip the infill! The design works best without it, as infill can interfere with the light emission. Using the default print profile should handle this for you.

Parts needed

  • LED lamp kit 001
  • 10–18 magnets (6x2 mm), depending on how firmly you want the lamp to sit on the wall mount
  • 2 wall screws (up to 4 mm in diameter)
  • Super glue

This is one of my more ambitious projects, and I’m still learning, so I’d really appreciate any feedback.

Happy printing!
