Description
The Chrysler Building was commissioned by Walter P. Chrysler, founder of the Chrysler automobile manufacturing company. It was built between 1926 and 1931, and is located in downtown New York City. It was the first skyscraper, standing 320 meters high, with 77 floors. Walter P. Chrysler asked for them to be made to look like the decorative features of a radiator cap, as a symbol of his prominent automotive empire. [1]
