Description

This is a French Cleat system to hang on a wall with adhesive. You can print many copies to hang up next to each other to create a long mount. This also has a decorative kumiko pattern inset to give it a little flair.

Additional print profiles have a 45 degree French cleat connector piece that fits with this designed bar and a jig piece profile

These two extra pieces look similar but are different.

The jig piece can be printed to help assist lining up parts on the wall to get each part level as you attach them to the wall.

The jig piece only slides on the side as it is fit perfectly to the bar.

The connector piece has some play to allow placing at any place on the bar.

It works well but because of the patterns, there is not a lot of space to put the double sided tape. It could be a good idea to add some filling in the center and more on the sides

what kind of tape are you aiming to use? we just used two .75” nano tape circles on each side and that’s held everything no problems.

I have used some 3M strong double sided tape and it seems to hold quite well. Nevertheless, I'm planning on hanging a spool of filament for the external feeder on it, so I wanted to be able to put more tape to be on the safe side.

Thank you ... this is something that I am looking for to add to my storage organization system. Before I start .... please tell me how to mount to the wall? Do I need to drill holes in the model?

this one is a renter friendly design, we’ve used nano tape which can hold a pretty good amount of weight. depending on what you’d like to hang on it that may work great for you, or you may prefer to mechanically attach it to the wall by screw. We were planning on adding a keyhole hanging mechanism to the options. You could absolutely drill holes in it, but the screws could make it more difficult to slide your attachments along the rail. what kind of things would you like to hang along the rail and how heavy are they?

Have not planned anything specific ... but as I am 3d printing (as opposed to building from lumber) I would be thinking of lighter items. I am planning on using this in places where multiboard may not be the best option.

honestly, you can probably just use nano tape. Hanging something even as heavy as my big iPad Pro with an attached keyboard at just short of 5lbs doesn’t cause it to pull away at all. If you plan or end up hanging like a drill or something with heavy batteries on it it might be better to wait until we get that keyhole set up. I can probably see that finished over the weekend. And of course you can also hang some with tape and others with screws a bit later and just line everything up using the straightening jig included.

I needed the depth to be a bit larger to accommodate my accessories, but this worked and is beautifully constructed. Thank you!

I need one I can screw to the wall at every 16" Is that possible?

you would be able to get one side of it with a screw, but without a printer capable of printing a strip spanning 16” you wouldn’t get screws in both sides
