Description

Designed to allow quick and easy storage solutions for use with the Multiboard system with the following design objectives:

  • Parametric
  • Box or cylindrincal
  • Honeycomb pattern to match multiboard asthetic
  • Use two peg board holes for strength, minimal space, and stability
  • Bolts should be flush with the back mounting plate

You can adjust the box, cylinder, gridfinity shelf dimensions if you want the box or cylinder bottomless or not. I'll probably add more to this in the future but for now I just wanted to throw it up here in case someone else finds it useful. I eventually figured out parametic honeycomb cylinder pattern (order of operations and math very important) so you can easily adjust to changes in user parameters.

The solution was designed with a 0.4mm nozzle and standard print settings, however use of other nozzles should be easily accomodated. Keep in mind, I am not sure how the T-bolts from Multiboard will print with nozzles other than the 0.4mm standard they recommend.

Required Materials

  • 2x Multiboard - Small 13mm Flat Head T-Bolt (Source)

Instructions

Download and open the fusion file (Fusion for personal use is free)

Click on Modify→Change Parameters

Adjust box_width, box_height, and box_depth to metric dimensions needed for box

Adjust cylinder_diameter and cylinder_height to metric dimensions needed for cylinder

Adjust gridfinity width, depth, and height units (width and depth 42mm units, height 7mm units)

Optionally adjust box_bottomless or cylinder_bottomless if you want it to have a bottom or not

View and select the model under Multibaord Accessories→Dual PegHole Mounting Plate→Box or Cylinder

Then either export as .stl or use Utilities→Make for .3mf, .obj, .stl, etc

Change Log

  • v4: 09.14.24 - Initial Release
  • v6: 09.15.24 - Fixed a small error in the fusion file where adjustments to depth caused model design failures. Also started work on cyliners. I can't quite figure out how to easily add the honeycomb pattern with changing dimensions but cylinders are included now in beta.
  • v11: 09.16.24 - Added parametic cylinders
  • v14: 09.17.24 - Added gridfinity shelf design and fixed a constant for honeycomb pattern that should have been expression if someone ever wants to change size of honeycomb.

Thank you for providing the file. Works excellently, even with custom parameters. Is there actually a printed screwdriver for the screws

I made a Driver for those screws ☺️ Check my profile. There are 3 different kinds 😬

Thank you! this was amazing for small spray cans such as WD-40 and Superglue activator!

Is there a way to have a different diameter for the bottom and top of the cylinder?

A truly elegant design, perfectly suited for the Multiboard. Printing proceeded without issue

These are great! The 100mm cylinder exactly fits 16oz camp propane tanks [I had to add a mm or two for easier clearance] and I created several extra sizes to store household chemicals [oils, solvents, etc.] so they're not jammed into a shelf!
