Description

This knob model is almost identical, to the original, as you can see in one of the photos.

This knob is designed for the YAESU FRG-9600 UHF/VHF radio receiver. In the ’80s, it was one of the best receivers in its category, and it still remains a good receiver today (although, unfortunately, there is much less to listen to now than there was in the ’80s).

After so many years, the knobs often break, and this 3D model can be very useful in such cases.

There are two print profiles for this knob:

  • The knob will be inserted on top of the original plastic cap.
  • The knob will be inserted directly into the shaft.

This model has been generated with OpenSCAD, the source code is available on my Git repository at https://github.com/digiampietro/FRG9600-SmallKnob-v2. By changing the value of the variable noCap it is possible to create the knob either with or without the original cap.

Let me know if you use this 3D model and if it works for you.
