Description

Hello Makerworlders!

Today I've made a casing for my Toyota Keyfob that broke and after days of turning the key with plyers while my wife kept the remote close to the dashboard, I've decided to fire Shapr3D and get something out!

The model can be printed in PLA, nothing really else needed.

0.2 mm levels

Supports Enabled for the buttons, Organic Trees

Printed separately the Toyota Badge to glue afterwards on the key, in order to maintain the PEI Texture on everything.

You will need 4 M2x10 Screws, and one M2x5 Screw for the key itself.

Hope my small creation can help others!

Corolla verso 2004 in Finland. The metal part of the key is wider than the hole in the key. Maybe country specific differences…

It might depend by the tollerance of your printer too! Try scaling the model to 105% and see if that works out!

The key to my Toyota Land Cruiser 120 from 2005 is also wider. Solution: heat the key and melt the plastic. The screws don't go in well. M3 and I had to heat them, but I guess it's due to the material used. Design could be improved, but thank you very much. Made with a P2S.

Thank you for your comment. I only know that the key works fine with the Celica 7th gen cause i have 2, and tested on the Yaris and Corolla too.

Exactly what I needed for my lexus. I had to add a third hole for the trunk-button though. First I used my Dremel which turned out very meh... Mind if I remix this with for my draft with a third button?

Looks very good! I made it for my Celica, and it doesn't have a 3rd button, but if you're down to remix it go ahead by all means!

Good profile, I needed it for a Toyota Prado 120 key that broke. the key part is however different in shape in the bottom and it's thicker so I needed to cut away some pieces. would it be possible to get the base models so that I can re-design it for my key?

same here, wish there was a re-mix for old Prado keys… I just grinded the key down and jammed it In place so it fused into the part.

How do I disassemble the blade from the original key?

A small screw holds the key in place; unscrewing it releases the key

Beyond the outer one? Where exactly? Do you happen to have a photo? I'm going crazy, I can't remove it

its fused with the plastic surrounding it. I peeled it with a hot blade from one side then heated the key just enough to pull out the other side of the plastic. @user_3651244246

Mind sharing a photo? So i can see where the issue could be. Is it the original remote or a third party? Sometimes the cars are sold with a third party fob if used

Original remote, unfortunately I discarded the print, but the problem was that it wouldn't close because of the thickness

this is closest print on here to a 2007 Toyota Camry. My keyhousing broke, and now I'm gonna have to try this on and maybe alter it maybe not...
