Description

The Legend of the Pumpkin (Blackthorn) Witch Sisters. Deep within the shadowy heart of the Blackthorn Woods, where the trees grow twisted and gnarled, and the air is thick with whispers of forgotten spells, two pumpkins sit in eternal vigil. These are no ordinary pumpkins—they are the cursed forms of the infamous Blackthorn Witch Sisters, whose tale is still told by those brave enough to wander near their haunted realm. Centuries ago, the two sisters Ivy, and Thora were powerful witches who lived in a hidden cottage deep within the forest. Their magic was woven into the very roots of the land; they could summon storms, make crops flourish or wither, and speak with the spirits that roamed the ancient trees. For years, they lived peacefully, crafting potions and enchanting the woods to protect them from unwelcome intruders. But the villagers of Blackthorn, growing fearful of the sisters’ power, whispered among themselves that the witches were too dangerous to live. On a cold autumn night, the townspeople marched into the woods with torches and pitchforks, determined to rid themselves of the witches once and for all. However, the sisters were not so easily defeated. In the final moments of their confrontation, Ivy, the eldest, cast a desperate spell to preserve their lives. But something went terribly wrong. Instead of vanishing or turning the villagers away, the spell backfired, binding their souls to the very pumpkins growing outside their cottage. Trapped within these hollow shells, the sisters were condemned to haunt the woods forever, their once-beautiful forms reduced to twisted, haunted gourds. Now, every year as the veil between the living and the dead grows thin, the Blackthorne Witch Sisters stir. By night, their pumpkins glow with an eerie, green light, and their whispers can be heard on the wind. Travelers who stray too close are said to hear Thora’s voice, offering riddles in exchange for safe passage. But woe to those who answer incorrectly, for they will be lost in the forest, never to return. Ivy, is known to enchant the trees, causing their branches to tangle like bony fingers, ensnaring any who dare venture too far. She calls forth spectral vines from the earth to drag the unwary into the depths of the woods, never to be seen again. On Halloween night, some say you can see the sisters’ ghostly forms wandering among the trees, their pumpkin heads glowing as they search for a way to break the curse. They gather around an ancient cauldron in the heart of the forest, still trying to undo the spell that binds them, their hollowed-out eyes burning with the desire for revenge. Beware the Blackthorn Woods when the moon is full and the wind is howling, for the Blackthorn Witch Sisters are always watching, waiting to lure unsuspecting souls into their cursed domain. Some say that if you bring them an offering—perhaps a spellbook or an ancient charm—they may grant you safe passage. But many who have tried have never returned, their fate sealed by the wrath of the haunted sisters. And so, the legend lives on: a reminder that the witches of Blackthorn may be cursed, but their magic—and their thirst for revenge—will never die. Inspired by Spirit Halloween pumpkins.
