Description

The base image used to make this was made using AI image generation.

I used the Lithophane setting in Hueforge to make these.

This is printed in two parts. The two parts are glued back to back to make the final product.

 

Here are the specific colors with transmission distances that I used.

Please note that for some of the transmission distances I had to print test samples and got them visually as close as I could. They may not be 100% exact.


Part 1 (Red Plate):

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.04mm with a base layer of 0.16mm

Filaments Used:
PLA BambuLab Basic Jade White Transmission Distance: 5
PLA BambuLab Basic Red Transmission Distance: 4
PLA Hatchbox Black Transmission Distance: 0.2

Swap Instructions:
Start with Jade White
At layer #4 (0.28mm) swap to Red
At layer #20 (0.92mm) swap to Black for the rest.


Part 2 (Blue Plate):

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.04mm with a base layer of 0.16mm

Filaments Used:
PLA BambuLab Basic Jade White Transmission Distance: 5
PLA Hatchbox Light Blue Transmission Distance: 3.3
PLA Hatchbox Black Transmission Distance: 0.2

Swap Instructions:
Start with Jade White
At layer #4 (0.28mm) swap to Light Blue
At layer #25 (1.12mm) swap to Black for the rest.

All settings are default except the ones specified below.

printed this over two days as it's two plate. it worked out and glued nicely. my wife's favorite hockey team. she loves how it looks hanging from a bedroom window

I printed then as shown but it doesn't seem to really be bleeding through with the light like I'd hoped
