Description

Recreating the red plane from Pilotwings for the SNES was a rewarding yet challenging project. Translating the low-poly model from its original era into a more detailed 3D form required interpreting a lot from basic textures and shapes. The SNES’s early 3D graphics, while revolutionary at the time, lacked the refinement of modern models, making it tricky to balance between authenticity and smoothness. Every angle had to be carefully reconstructed, and details imagined where they were once just pixels. This model is a faithful homage to a classic, capturing the retro feel of Pilotwings with modern 3D techniques.

For assembly, superglue will be required to ensure the plane’s pieces fit together seamlessly, giving it a solid structure worthy of its in-game counterpart.
