Adapter to fit a ESP32 D1 Mini (8266) and 16 LED WS2812B RGB Ring to use WLED inside any lamp that uses the LED Lamp 001 base. Designed to fit USB-C cable for power and connection to install WLED.  Board and ring are held in place by small dabs of hot glue.

Parts:

Due to low number of LED's you can use the onboard USB C to power the the D1 Minin and the LED's.  Anymore than that you should wired directly to the 5V and GND pins on the D1 Mini.  Use 5V WS2812B's.

 

Wiring:  

 

Solder wires between D1 and LED Strips (3 wire) as follows:

D1 Mini - 5V to LED Strip 5V 

D1 Mini - GND to LED Strip GND 

D1 Mini - D4 to LED Strip Data

 

Set up wled, then on the main page, go to Config

Then LED Preferences

Reduce maximum current to 800 as this is being powered through the boards and cannot support full current.

Change GPIO to 4 (or what ever number you use if different) and Length of LED's to 16 (or number of LED's used if different).

Click Save
