Description

This model was inspired by Crazy Art but is an original work with none of their CAD being used.

Goals

  • Desiccant Holder for a Creality Space Pi+
  • Ability to still feed out filament as well

Results

  • Clean perf pattern with multiple options
    • 2mm (standard)
      • Thru Holes
      • Front Only
    • 1mm (for smaller desiccant)
      • Thru Holes
      • Front Only
  • Customizable Top and Bottom Mesh
    • The grid on the top and bottom are generated by the infill settings and can be adjust in Bambu Studio if needed.
  • Fairly Tight fit.  The size is a little snug, but there isn't a lot of room to sit it on the side supports, so wanted to make sure it didn't fall out.
  • There are stiffeners inside to prevent it from bowing.
  • There are easy lift tabs installed on the lid to make it easy to pop off when you need to replace the desiccant.
  • Material
    • At the minimum I would recommend printing this in PETG, but it will depend on the temps you plan to dry at.
      • I have done PETG, ASA, and ABS per the predefined drying temps with my unit with no issues, but the max temp is like 60C.  It's also far enough from the exhaust you don't need to worry about the over temp from that.
      • If you plan to dry something at a higher temp, make sure the glass transition temp is sufficiently high to be able to withstand the heat.
  • Feel free to reach out with any suggestions.
