XGIMI Halo+ Dimmer, also known as the 58mm ND Filter Adapter

Although the XGIMI Halo+ is an excellent and bright projector, it has one flaw: It can't quite dim enough without having drastic color shifting.

Inspired by fotography, where neutral densitiy (ND) filters are used for hardware dimming, I present an adapter to mount such an ND filter to your projector. I am using this cheap (<30€) 58mm variable ND filter that smoothly dims from ND2-ND2000 but other 58mm filters should work just as well.

The mount is slightly angled to hopefully not cause any issues from the lens reflexion and the air gap helps with cooling. The filter should be pressed into the ring to lock it and thus enable twisting when using a variable filter. If the ring is too wide, some felt locks the filter in place.

To print this file, just make sure to use supports for the ring.
