Description
I designed this model before the first day of my first class for my first semester in college. The idea was that i had some nice pencils (blackwing naturals) and wanted to protect them better then the little box they came in. I also felt the need to stunt on my classmates with a rad pencil shaped case as well. (How they will receive it is to be seen)
You can print this at any layer height, but i used .2 mm. You will need supports on both parts, only on the bottom of the body supporting the threads and cavity. On the cap, supporting the cavity as well. A raft would be helpful as well to promote good adhesion on both parts, and make sure both parts are oriented threads towards the build plate. (The no hook version can be oriented threads up or down, depending on preference) If your slicer/printer supports it, add a pause and change filament for the body around layer 975, and cap around layer 175.
I've printed a few of these now, and have found yellow/black for the body, and green/pink for the cap yields a nice result, aesthetically speaking.
PLA is 100% fine for this model, but ABS, PET-G, will work too, just may be more difficult and or expensive to print
If you choose to scale this model, make sure that the cap and body are scaled to the same percentage, or else the threads will not thread correctly.
