Description

I had some issues with shotgun shells falling over on the shaky tables at the German National Championships recently, so I decided to design a loading board to hold the necessary number of shotgun shells for both falling steel plate as well as speed disciplines.

The loading tray offers five rows (one for the practice run, four for the scored runs) of up to six shells each (for falling steel plates, for speed either only put in five, or keep the sixth as a backup in case of a dud or operator error during cycling a pump action shotgun).

The tray should fit any 12ga shells, I even tested it with the Aguila mini-shells. There is still enough of the shells exposed to easily grab them. The rows are spaced 9mm apart and the slots within the rows are spaced 4mm apart. For me that is enough space to easily grab them, even with gloves. But I also included the Fusion360 design file, so feel free to adjust to your needs.

I printed mine in Sunlu eABS, since it's cheap (got it for 12eur/kg including shipping directly from China on Aliexpress) and plenty sturdy. But this is not exactly a highly stressed part. PLA should be plenty strong for this, but PETG might offer better resistance to oil and solvents that it might get exposed to over time when being around firearms.

Thanks for checking out my designs. If this has been useful to you, I'd appreciate a like or comment. If you are having any issues, please let me know in the comments as well and I can try to help you address them.
