Small formicarium, designed for small ant colonies like Lasius Niger this is a 2 entrance version so can be connected to both water tube and outworld

Prints without supports

You will need;

A piece of 2mm acrylic 78mm x 88mm
4 m2x6 screws

i have just printed this, i am confused on the 2 wholes with vents, and my test tubes do not fit :(

the 2 vented holes are for cotton wool and water to keep the net hydrated. unfortunately test tube can vary in the size they stated. Are your tubes too tight of loose on the connector?

Ah ok under that now. Do I have to drill wholes in the plastic to access them? Also the fitting it too small foe the test tubes. Not 1 fits the test tubes are 12mil

Yes you'll need to drill 2 holes like shown in the photo. I'll can DM you a universal connector design, it fits tubes with an ID of 10 - 14mm

Hi. I printed it out. Thanks a lot. What's the small hole on the side for? There are two input holes and one 5mm hole on the back—what's that for?

That is for if you want to monitor the temperture of the nest. and temp sensor fits in there nicely

I've made my own but something like this should work fine, its just abit bulky https://amzn.to/4dBnvu6 that being said if the room they are in stays warm then you probably will not need a heat pad.

Hey Mohawk. The 14 to 16 worked a treat thank you so much. I was wondering if you can do me 1 last favour. Im trying to get the ants to move from 1 test tube (old) to another (new) do you have a connector or do you think you can merge the 14 to 16 together to make 2 ends? 🙏

Is it advisable to keep Camponotus nicobarensis or Messor barbarus ants, and is it possible to maintain them in captivity without providing a foraging area
