Description

Hocus Pocus Book of Spells Arduino Voice Activated Prop

This is a project I undertook for a Halloween 2018 prop to go with my family dress up as the 3 Sanderson Sisters. I used the Sea Lemon tutorial to do a lot of the book design outside of the 3D models used, I did switch the stitches out to real hemp cord instead of puffy paint. I made holes for the stitching using my trusty Weller soldering iron after the paper mache and painting was done and came back in with paint to clean up the burnt areas. I had to alter the animatronic eye design slightly due to space issues fitting the eye close to the opening of the book. Changed files included with this projected. Commercial use not allowed, don't be a thief like RRD.

spinesnake.stl - printed at 0.1 with 20% infill, no supports, no brim/had to rotate to fit on MK3 bed, 2 needed

frontclasp.stl - printed at 0.1 with 20% infill, supports for the hinge/hole, 1 needed

jewel.stl - printed at 0.1 with 20% infill, no supports, 1 needed in yellow and goes in frontclasp.stl

sidebraid.stl - printed at 0.1 with 20% infill, supports for the hinge/hole, 1 needed

backclaw.stl - printed at 0.1 with 20% infill, supports for the hinge/hole, 1 needed

finger.stl - printed at 0.1 with 20% infill, needs supports/raft, 5 needed

Animatronic Eye File Changes, use advice given in that project for printing:

servobase.stl - made one file to support both servos

base_42mmB.stl - attaches the servobracket that was cut off on the flat to the same place I put it without having to glue servobracketbackA.stl to it. servobracketbackA.stl and base_42mm.stl from the animatronic eye project is not needed if you use this file.

bookofspells.txt - rename bookofspells.ino - a short arduino program using the elechouse voice activation module to look through.
