A Link to the Past Pedestal Night Light with Drawable Master Sword

My entry for the Games of the 90s contest!

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, released in 1991—the same year I was born—has always been one of my favorite games! I still complete it at 100% at least once a year, so creating this model was truly special. It was quite a long process (the Master Sword is a whole model by itself!), but I really enjoyed making it! I hope you'll enjoy printing it as much as I did making it! 🙂

Assembly:

1. Insert the "Pedestal middle" into the "Pedestal outside" (4 screws).
2. Attach the "Pedestal sword holder" onto the "Pedestal middle" (4 screws).
3. Glue the "Pedestal glass" (it's plastic, not glass, I know 😉) and the "Triforce plate" onto the "Pedestal sword holder."
4. Insert the LED strip:
   • 4.1: Insert the LED strip from the back and loop it around until it fully encircles the pedestal.
   • 4.2: Once the LED strip has completed the loop, pass it through the middle, facing down to prevent light from bleeding through the pedestal floor, then direct it towards the hole. (There are small "bridges" on both sides of the hole to help hold the LED in place.)
   • 4.3: Cut off any excess LED strip.
5. Screw the "Grass" onto the bottom (4 screws).

Hardware Needed:

• LED strip
• 10 x 10mm M3 screws
• 2 x 14mm M3 screws
• Glue

Tips:

• The blade of the Master Sword is blue to honor the original design in the game, but silk silver would work just as well.
• I designed the path leading to the pedestal to gradually transition from brown to green using color bleeding. For the best effect, use 5 walls for the "Grass" part so the walls cover each transition level completely.
• For the blue part of the "Pedestal Middle," use only two bottom layers and no top layer for better transparency.
• Print the Master Sword at 0.12mm layer height.
• There's two versions of the Triforce plate: one standard and one with edges to prevent light bleeding—choose your favorite. 🙂
• The tolerance is quite tight, and I haven’t tried it with anything other than PLA, so proceed at your own filament! 😃
