Introducing the articulated "Toothblade Dragon," a creation born out of meticulous design and countless hours of refinement. This dragon features intricate details, from its sharp, tooth-like spines to its smooth, flowing curves, all designed to be printed in stunning multicolor or silk filaments.
Initially, I aimed to offer this model as a "print-in-place" design, but during testing, I encountered a recurring issue: in 3 out of 5 prints, at least one of the upper jaw teeth failed to print correctly. After multiple attempts to resolve this, I decided to separate the lower jaw and place it separately on the print bed. Additionally, I added custom-designed support structures to the underside of the upper jaw to ensure consistent, flawless prints every time.
Once printing is complete, the only post-processing required is the removal of the support structures. The lower jaw is designed to snap perfectly into place with a satisfying click. For best results, lay the dragon on its back, place the lower jaw on the upper jaw, and press down firmly until you hear it snap together.
With these adjustments, the "Toothblade Dragon" now prints successfully every time, bringing to life a design that is both fierce and elegant.
