Description

This remote holder is reminiscent of an amphitheater or stage. Four remotes can be stored around a stack of handy coasters. The shell design keeps the holder light-weight and saves material and printing time.

The coaster profile is set for zero top and bottom layers to expose the 10% honeycomb infill. Feel free to experiment with the infill pattern and density, and top / bottom layers for achieve different effects. You can also use other circular coaster models, just be sure to scale them to 99mm or less to fit the holder.

The walls separating the remotes could be slightly larger and thicker However, everything else fits perfectly I even replicated this design with a different one, and it worked well

Thanks! Great idea to combine the two. This does work much better with smaller remotes. When I first created it one of the goals was to trying printing it large in a reasonable amount of time on a slow printer. I think modifying it to be solid with infill and adding a higher back would help.

Doesn't hold the remotes properly.

Sorry it didn't work for you. Smaller and thinner remotes likely work best, but there are so many variations.

Thank you! I have been trying to get back to this design to thicken it up a bit. The original was designed with my old and slow printer and I was thinking reducing the material usage would make it easier and faster to print. Hopefully I can spin off an improved version.

Strength Issue:Walls should be a bit thicker. Other then that; nice.

Thanks for the feedback! I was trying to balance strength and filament usage ;) I will see about thickening the walls to strengthen it (which also make it heavier which is a good thing).

Idropped it once and the back wall broke xD Might as well be a bit under extrusion. Anyhow; perfect fit for my needs! Maybe 3 instead of 2 walls will do the trick!

Thinking about it more, the filament used could also be a problem. I have some filaments that would cause this print to be fairly brittle, especially at corners. I assume they just have lower layer adhesions and I just relegate them to test chunky or prints. My 6 year old still has one of this kicking around among her toys ;)
