Description

The 3 parts of the Hepatic portal triad are

Hepatic artery: This vessel carries oxygenated blood from the heart to the liver.

Portal vein: This unique vein carries nutrient-rich, deoxygenated blood from the digestive organs (small intestine, stomach, pancreas, spleen) to the liver.

Bile duct: This structure carries bile, a fluid produced by the liver, away from the liver to the gallbladder for storage or directly into the small intestine for digestion.
