Description

Boost Me (for free)

The best way to support my work is to leave a boost it's free and really motivating for me

3D Model: Bic Katana

NEW VERSION NOW AVAIBLE!!!

I've created this pen a while ago and at first it has to be screwed to be closed. But I realised after a bit that this wasn't the best thing, it wasn't resistant and could break quite easily, the tolerance wasn't good and it wasn't durable. So I tried different closing system until I found the one on the new version that doesn't have all the problems I said before so try it yourself and tell me about it so I can still continue to upgrade it

PAY ATTENTION

The prints profiles that aren't mine are now obsolet and are made for and older version that isn't the same so if you want the new version you should use my print profile

Overview:

  • A ballpoint pen combined with katana aesthetics, designed for 3D printing.

Dimensions:

  • Total length: 180 mm
  • Handle width: 12mm.

Technical Specifications:

  • Assembly: Insert the Bic Cristal cartridge into the scabbard, then just put the scabbard into the handle.
  • printing recommendations: To print it in necessary to put the tsuba(guard) in 0.1mm height layer at least, I print it upside down and put support only on the scabbard, the best is to use my print profile to print it(multicolor version coming soon)

Bic Cristal Cartridge Requirement:

  • This 3D model is specifically designed to be compatible with a Bic Cristal pen cartridge. The design ensures that the cartridge fits securely within the sheath, allowing the Bic Katana to function as a fully operational pen.

I didn't really understand whether the problem came from the model, the printing profile (which isn't mine) or from you, but if you have any recommendations, please let me know.

hello! i need some help, been trying to print this at least 4 times, non of them worked out, always the same problem, when it gets to the curved part on the long side, it curls a little bit up, making the print to detach from the plate (ive tried printing something after this and it attached perfectly) i have no idea what to do, thanks in advance for any help! (bambulab A1, tried both white and yellow bambu filament, brand new both of em, running the OG profile)

Hello, i see you have a problem that could come from several places, here are some solutions you could try: first, wash your plate well at the beginning of each print to ensure better adhesion of the first layer, then try to reduce ventilation to prevent the layers from cooling too quickly, and lastly try to print the bic like this, i've printed 5 in a row without ever having to work on it again. And an another advice just avoid putting brackets in the holes of the scabbard and handle because it's hard to take off

quick lesson 🤪 filament does not attach to grease so i recommend not to get the prints off the plate with your fingers you should wobble the plate, and spray some cleaning stuff like you use in the kitchen after some time.

thanks...^^ im using 0.4mm standard, the color of the filament makes it look clean, although this particular filament brand has flow issues.

After quite some prints I realized that the toleranced on the model were too tight and that it wasn't possible to always print it perfectly and I think I just got lucky the first time I tried the model. But I resolved the problem and now it should be ok to print it. I you have any other issue or suggestion please let me know 😁

Hello how can I make the hole in the cap a little bigger so the scabbard can fit in. It goes in but not to far to hold it. I want to print a black one too. Thank you for your help.

Hello, you might need to force it strong enough because the tolerance can be hard to print, I'll upload different version for different tolerance because sometime it's too tight and sometimes not enough depending on the printer and filament

I used a drill bit to get the supports out of the handle, worked great.

Needed some tries until my print was successful. The part with the pen did have some issues at the end two times. The result however is very cool

This is such a cool print. ( Supoort removal was harsh so it’s my fault the broken piece)

Thanks, and fort the support I think you could try to print it right, like in my print profile. There will be no problem for support and quality but you just have to make sure to clean your plate very well.

I attempted to print the katana three times, twice the thread was misaligned, and once it just produced spaghetti

And do you think the problem is in the profile or in your printer setup?

i know what 'spaguetti' is and I not sure aboit the other problem, but it seems like your printer lose one or more motor steps or chrashed with something and thrre is the problem with the other prints. most common spaguetti issues: low temp, high ventilador and wet filament. all this problems are not related with the model or the profile. this issues are from your printer

I'm not entirely sure what the problem is, but if I print a different model with the same filament, everything works
