M3x10 FHCS Machine Screw (20PCS) - AA188

Description

Spider Scare Box, there are many of these around in woodworking groups etc so I done one up for 3D printing.

There is 2 lids, One without writing, use whichever suits your needs, PLA or PETG, Whatever you prefer.

You will need 16 x M3 x10mm CSK screws ( 8mm & 12mm will work also ) & a length of 2/2.5mm wire approx 200mm Long.

Use the 2.5 Alley key that came with your printer to install the screws, there are no nut inserts to making the build easier,

if you do strip a screw / thread simply add a drop or two of super glue & put the screw back in, Nail polish will work also.

Assembly is straight forward, assemble the base, one side & rear, then bend a 90 degree hook in the end of the wire & thread through

the centre guide, if the hook isn't quite right just heat the end up with a small blow torch & melt it in.

Then bend the wire to suit as per the picture, trim wire if needed then heat the end up & push the spider on.

I 3D printed the Black widow TPU spider by agpebiz, I used some old TPU I had as I wanted it to string to give it a nastier scary look.

You can always hit it the blow torch to get rid of some stringing.

Now just just hook up a small piece of string to the screw on the centre guide then wrap string forward around the centre guide & tie off to the screw under the lid & adjust the length as needed for the spider to pop out smoothly as you open the lid.
