UPDATED AND IMPROVED VERSION!
This is an updated and improved version of the P1 and X1 bracket that holds the Front Print Head Cover up and out of the way when replacing print heads. Think of it as an improved third hand!
New Improvements
- Added a back-stop that helps keep the Print Head Cover secure
- Lengthened the front-stop to better contain the Print Head Cover
- Wider to increase stability
- Reduced filament requirement by adding some stylish hex-shape openings.
Design Principles
The PRIMARY design principles for this model is ‘do no harm’ to the carbon fiber rods. I could have easily made this to snap on the carbon fiber rods. However, doing so risks damaging the rods (read: expensive and difficult fix). To avoid any damage, I designed straight faces where this contacts the rods. They provide the least amount of contact with the rod while still providing the required support.
