Description

In my opinion, the safety on most (all?) Nerf Rival products is backwards. Your finger should push a safety away to disengage, and pull it towards you to engage. Nerf/Hasbro decided otherwise.

After what was probably the 3rd time I attempted to draw my Nerf Pilot from my holster only to have the safety engaged by the friction of its removal and subsequently being left unable to fire my blaster at a critical moment, I decided it had to go. It would also be less than ideal to just chop it up or simply remove the plastic bit - leaving a gap. So I cobbled this thing together using primitives in Bambu Studio, and some slight changes in blender.

I'm quite the novice at modeling, so it isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than just leaving an annoying and unsightly hole under the trigger guard.

To use it simply open up your blaster (there are 2 screws that aren't like the others - pay attention) ,remove the pieces shown below the blaster in the photo (careful, there is a spring in the bottom of the grip that will try and fly out), insert this gap filling part, and carefully close everything back up.
Maybe keep the two pieces you removed. I don't know. I'm not the police.

Just about any print settings will work I think. I stood it on-end and used supports so that the gentle curve in my design wasn't made hideous and rough to the touch, but it would work fine if you just lay it down on the large flat side and printed it that way.
If you find it to be a little loose or a little tight then you can bump the scale by 1% or something.

I'd also be remiss to not mention that removing a safety from a toy blaster that is strong enough cause injury should perhaps be given some consideration.

Stay safe.
Have fun.
