Description
Weighted iPhone MagSafe Stand
I bought a cheap magsafe adapter from amazon and wanted a stand for it so I opened FreeCAD and started to have fun.
A lightweight phone stand is never fun to use. And adding weight by increasing the infill isn't the best way imho. After some thinking about how to add weight, I decided to try to do something using 5¢ nickels! They have an interesting weight, are easy to find (less and less in use but still…), and not super expensive, about 5¢ each! lol It takes (5¢ x 7 x 6) to fill the base so 2.10$ total.
The gasket part is totally optional. It can be printed in TPU to add some grip, or in hard plastic and will make the base swivel on it.
the decorations (flash sign, circles) are scarred into the design (pocket of only a few microns) so they are ignored when slicing, but gives guides when painting using the fill function so you decide if you want them to show (using paint) or not.
The case I use with my iPhone 14 pro has a kinda big protection around the camera lenses so notches have been created on the top and left side of the magsafe holder ring for the case to fit. It also helps separating the phone from the magnet by simply rotating the phone.
