Description
This model is designed as a teaching tool to learn about the tracts in the spinal cord. It was was designed in collaboration with Dr Gwenllian Evans*.
You can use string on the model to demonstrate the decussation (crossing) of the tracts.
The spinal cord model includes axial cross sections of the lower cord, upper cord and medulla. It prints separately so its easy to print in different colours. The tracts are colour coordinated - one for ascending tracts, one for descending tracts. It snaps in to the board and can be removed easily.
The display board has holes to put labels in for students to learn about the anatomy of the spinal cord tracts and to try to label each of the part. It also has holes to plug the cross sections in a vertical orientation to visualise the ascending and descending tracts to/from the brain.
