Description

I remixed this from a model for a Bosch GTS 10 table-saw.

This model fits the Axminster AP254SB table-saw perfectly. I am new to table-saws and didn't like that I couldn't find the stop button easily and had to use my hand to press the button. This model allows easy finding of the stop and can be activated by your knee very easily if required.

I called Axminster to ask if they had a solution and was told that they could send an electrician to fit a foot stop to my saw but this would cost a few hundred pounds… They stated that an emergency stop wasn't needed as ‘CE’ regulation did not require one. On inspection of the existing switch, I saw that if I turned the switch unit faceplate by 180 degrees, there is a hole specifically designed for this kind of stop button. The only additional item required was two round head Philips screws (30x4mm) to attach the cover to the switch (although if you have one, a long M4 bolt and nyloc nut would also work).
