This is a specialized model for making DIY charging cables for Meta Rayban 2 smart glasses.

Additional DIY parts needed:

Soldering iron

Solder wire

Power cable, or just buy a finished 5v output PD charging cable

PD decoy, to decoy 5v (if you buy the finished cable, you do not need to buy this)

(ps. You will also need a charger or power bank that supports the PD protocol. (Almost all chargers and power banks on the market in recent years now support it)

Making:

You need to have two wires through the holes underneath the model, and then use a soldering iron to solder a little bit of tin on the head of each wire

Then use a lighter to heat up the model to adjust the wires to the right position

When the model is mounted on the eyeglasses, you need to make sure that the tin point of the wire touches the charging contact of the glasses

!!! Special note: Do not connect the wires in the wrong order. Glasses camera facing you, left side -, right side +

Normal charging power is about 1.5W, while recording is about 4W

The total charging current is generally not more than 1A

Fits perfectly on my meta ray-bans but I modified it to pass a wire through it and add pogo pins to make it a little more polished

Hi, thanks for this amazing hack. can I just use a normal phone usb charging cable, cut the micro usb/type C head and attach the positive end of the wire with positive end of the glasses and negative with negative. then plug the usb A side of wire to charging adapter?? Do I use normal 18W charging adapter ?

I see what you're mean. But unfortunately I've found that I can't charge it consistently using a regular cell phone USB cable. The glasses will charge for a little while when you first connected to the cable and then stop charging. The glasses probably need recognize special protocols. I connected a PD decoy module and it can works well.

And the charger needs to support the PD protocol. The glasses charging power is not more than 5W. So there is no requirement for the power of the charging adapter

What kind of cable are you using? Its diameter is really small. The mouse cable I have is too thick.
