Description

This is a KME styled knife sharpening system/jig designed to be used with 4-6inch sharpening stones. 

 

The required hardware for this project includes:

 

7pc m3x16mm screws used for parts “Swivel A”, “Swivel B”, “FixedStoneMount”, “RestHook”, “RodMount”

2pc m3x8mm screws used for part "RodStop"

1pc m3x12mm screws used for part "BallHandle"

2pc m4x20mm screws used for part "Stand"

2pc m4 nuts used for part "Stand"

2pc m3 nuts used for parts “Swivel A” and “Swivel B”

10pc m3 brass inserts used for all the parts photographed with the inserts. 

1pc 6mm x 400mm linear rod

1pc 6mm x 180mm linear rod

1pc spring with inner diameter greater than 6mm 

1pc linear bearing for 6mm rod with outer diameter 12mm used for part “LinearBearingMount”

4pc 3x7x3mm Miniature Steel Bearings used for parts “LinearBearingMount” and "Swivel B"

Instruction Notes:

All parts should be printed with 100% infill except “BallHandle” and “Stand" which can be printed at 15-20%.

As photographed, two holes with M3 diameters should be drilled in the back of the clamping system 6mm from the edge and 17mm apart. 

For the parts that require bearings, bearings are pressed in on both sides. 

M4 nuts are placed through the bottom of the stand so the M4 screws can be used to fix the clamping system to the stand. 

All other assembly  should be replicated with the pictures as reference but feel free to ask for extra instructions.
