Description

Is your refrigerator running? Well lock it down with this Restraining Bolt! Also useful for unruly droids, magnetic whiteboards, and any other ferrous metal surfaces; and can hold down a shopping list, take-out menus, or a reminder note for your droids to behave.

Designed to print without supports, and the included 3mf file is set up for a multi(two)-color print. Four insets on the bottom of the restraining bolt allow up to four 15mm x 3mm magnets to be press-fit into place (no glue required). Two magnets is plenty, but Four will give a really strong holding force.

Notes:

Filament Type/Colors used to print the pictured model are Bambu PLA Metal (Iron Gray Metallic) and eSUN Silk Metal PLA (Silk Silver)
Modeled after the restraining bolt attached to C3PO by the Jawas in Episode IV

Very well designed. prints without supports perfectly well. I haven't found a Droid to test it on, but I'm pretty sure it works.

So the print turned out really good unfortunately it’s too large for the Home Depot droid. Is there a way that the system will allow me to reduce its size a little bit?

Yeah, you'll need to open it in Bambu Studio on your computer, but you can click on the model in there, click the scale button, make sure the "uniform scale" box is checked, then lower the % on any of the axes down from 100 and his ENTER. That'll allow you to scale it down. All of the walls on this model are thick enough that they should all still slice and print fine on a 0.4 nozzle as long as you don't scale it down really small. Probably the only thing you'll have to account for is that the insets for the magnets will be scaled down too, so you'll either need smaller magnets or to figure out a different way to attach it to your droid. If you figure out the % scale down you think makes sense and you let me know, I wouldn't mind publishing another profile with properly sized magnet insets... though depending on real work and life, it could be a bit before I get to it. :)
